hello all. I Haven't been around for awhile. I have been in the office training at my new job on data prep, and good ole' nexy has unfortunately become the unwitting bastard child of our shop. I call it the boat anchor. LOL Looks like it will be going away this year. WE have gone almost completely into high speed continuous printing, I was busy for a long time with the versamark inkjet. It's okay, I have plenty to do otherwise, nexy gets no respect. It was a beta test unit for the big stacker, and now, nobody cares
So to get to the point of my post....Since I saw in another post elsewhere that Nexpress territory is growing in So Cal....
I am originally from California. And, I just spent two weeks on vacation there, and realized how much I miss it. The Central Coast of California to be exact. I have family from all over around San Luis, Pismo, Arroyo Grande, Paso Robles etc etc etc. Looking for fun at moving back, but will be hardsell for us being that we are used to Iowa cost of living, and real estate. YIKES! I would be interested in staying within a couple of hours of that area.
What does the print/mail industry look like down there? I have no idea. I poked around while we were there but, I wasn't really aggressive about it. Still not really aggressive, but I figured, hey, why not ask the guys that know the most about these things.
Is this a dream I should pass on? LOL I don't really fit the usual nexpress profile, as I do all of the work to keep nexy going unless there is a major issue. Repair, inventory, maintenance, setup, data prep. My tech buddies aren't really around much these days, since Iowa is expanding it's nexpress range as well.
Any advice, or any resources would be excellent. Negative included, I am a realist.

I actually trained to be an auto mechanic of all things. But, I found this industry to be a nice fit for me. I started with digimasters, then we got the nexpress as a beta test mule as part of a deal when we bought 6 more digimasters. We ran it hard for about a year, but it really doesn't get used much anymore And now, most of our business is continuous forms.
I will be in touch I hope. THis is really still in the "someday maybe" stages of thought.
Thank you for the response.
